Anthem is similar to Destiny in many ways - it's a looter shooter in a sci-fi setting, has a greedy publisher, will be a microtransaction machine and so on. One major difference is that BioWare will give it raid matchmaking from get go. Mike Darrah has been flinging Anthem information all over his Twitter for months now and the man seems unstoppable. The latest highlight in his tweets is that the game will have raid matchmaking as soon as it launches.

When it comes to raid matchmaking, Destiny 2 is still struggling more than a year after launch and solo players are left in the ditch as they don't have a clan to rely on for teaming up. While Destiny 2 raids only require six players as opposed to let's say World of Warcraft which requires up to 40 people to be put together, it is still a thorn in players' side that they don't have a proper tool to find other players with.

Anthem will presumably feature up to seven players in a raid, based on the footage from E3 gameplay demo so it is a relief to know that players' needs will not be disregarded in the game.

On top of that, Anthem players will have more accommodations, such as being able to get a new player in a raid on the fly in case one player leaves. To put the cherry on top, the game will feature dynamic scaling so lower level players will be boosted up in order to match the power required for a certain instance. At the moment it not clear if Anthem will feature dynamic scaling in raids though, as it could partially defeat the purpose of grinding for gear in the first place.

This also works in raids. More interestingly, raid players will be able to save their raid checkpoints out of Guided Games. In other words, if the entire team disconnects in the middle of a Guided Games raid, you can form up another fireteam and start at where you left off. On the subject of social activities, Bungie is also placing more emphasis on clans and clan goals this time around. Because of this, Bungie is changing how clan XP is earned. Players will now need to acquire bounties from Hawthorne, up to three per day.

Completing these will offer clan XP. These offer better clan XP payouts, but must be done with clanmates in your fireteam.
